Source stock from a manufacturer

Buy units wholesale and turn them into a live listing. This is the longest chain in the system and it passes through three parties.

5 min to request, then several waits

Before you start

  • An approved seller account
  1. Sellers

    Browse a manufacturer catalogue

Open sourcing and pick a manufacturer. You can source from any verified manufacturer — no prior relationship is needed, and this is true whether or not a school book list is involved.

  2. Choose a quantity and request it

Quantity starts at the manufacturer’s minimum order and the order total updates as you change it. You pay the listed wholesale price — there is no negotiation step.

The card switches to "pending manufacturer approval"

  3. Manufacturers

    The manufacturer approves the request

They see who is asking, for how many units, and at what price. Approving reserves their stock and creates a purchase order.

    /manufacturer/requests

    A purchase order is created

  4. Platform staff

    Platform staff confirm your payment

Business-to-business payment is handled offline — bank transfer or cash, settled between you and the manufacturer. Staff record it against the purchase order once it clears.

This is a hard stop: the manufacturer cannot ship until payment is recorded

  5. Manufacturers

The manufacturer ships and marks it delivered

They move the order through processing, then shipped with a tracking reference, then delivered.

Delivery is what activates your listing

  6. Sellers

    Your listing goes live

On delivery you get your own storefront listing for that product, and the product itself is published. You can now sell it, or put it in a bundle.

Worth knowing

Set your retail price — it is not set for you

A new listing starts at the wholesale price you paid, which means zero margin. Nothing prompts you to change it, so open the listing and set a real retail price before you start selling.

If the manufacturer says nothing is happening

The most common stall is unconfirmed payment. The manufacturer’s controls do nothing at all while a purchase order is unpaid, and they are not told why — so chase the payment confirmation, not the manufacturer.
